PolyColumbus

Our Monthly Gathering on Second Mondays

The long-standing foundation of PolyColumbus is our monthly meeting. We’ve been getting together to support one another and discuss topics of interest for sixteen years (and counting!)

Our Monthly Gathering is a chance to meet like-minded folks in a safe setting and learn more about the many events PolyColumbus puts us. We meet on the second Mondays from 7:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., with many attendees regularly continuing the conversation afterwards at a nearby establishment. The Monthly Gathering takes place at The Space at 180 Outerbelt Street, Columbus, Ohio, 43213.

We have exclusive access to The Space from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., which is when the doors open and close. You do not need to be a paid member of The Space or PolyColumbus to attend the Monthly Gathering. We do ask a $5 donation at the end of the night from anyone who isn’t an Annual Member of PolyColumbus (as this helps us pay for the venue rental).

Our attendance is usually several dozen. We have created explicit driving directions (with photographs!) for first-time attendees not willing to trust their GPS.

To provide a fulfilling experience to the full range of attendees — from those testing out the waters of polyamory to those with decades of experience — most Monthly Gatherings we offer multiple discussion groups on the same topic. Every attendee can decide if they wish to join a “beginner” group on that topic, or a “more experienced” group. A few of our board members and other experienced community members always join the “beginner” group(s) to guide conversation and offer their perspective to those who request advice.

To ensure a satisfying experience for everyone, we have rules which protect anonymity, foster inclusivity, and keep the Monthly Gathering a safe, comfortable, and welcoming space for everyone. We hope to see you there!
